...due to financial issues i tried to save as much on the up-front cost as possible, especiall because at the time i was doubtful that we would have cheap lodging and expected attendance to be lower. if we have enough people to cover the costs, and enough are interested than i can try to add it and send the money for Type 2-Multi along with the winners sheets and such back to Cactus. we are going to sort of play it by ear. cant wait to see you and Laine!!! (last i knew you have a baby. leaving him [or her?] with someone or do i get to see him? still wee little?) ps. thanks Roy for the edits!!!  ;)

you are only allowing 2 hours total for booster draft?  I don't think that's a good idea.  It takes at least 45 minutes to draft and build decks.  You may want to reconsider that timing.

wow...that's humbling...that time is just for the rounds. forgot that you actually have to draft to play that category... :P if possible i'll try to shorten the rounds slightly, keep things moving, and do whatever else i can to save a few minutes. we see what will happen when we get there. thanks for pointing out a potentially stressful (and embarrassing) situation!

Our dear Marc!!!

All of your adult conterparts sincerely appreciate your efforts, love, and enthusiasm for the game.  Rest assured we will help you make it through.  We might be wrong, but you probably are the youngest Redemption host in Redemption CCG history.  You were 16 when you hosted the 2009 North East Regionals.  You have hosted NY States twice.  What else can we say???

Kudos to you, young Jedi master -- lol!!!  I'm sure that Master Jonathan will help you tweak your sked further as needed.

May the Force be with each of us!

Godbless!

o.k. everyone i have good news! THE STATE TOURNAMENT JUST GOT CHEAPER!!!! i am able to get discounted food from my workplace (Tim Hortons). HOWEVER there is a catch. i need to know how many are going to be participating in his offer. then he and i will talk and work out a meal plan. i'm shooting for 20 people (my group included). the meals may run something like this: Breakfast, breakfast sandwich, muffin (or doughnut or cookie or whatever), and a drink (coffee, juice, tea, whatever). Lunch, 6" club sandwich (we have a variety of sandwiches too), muffin (or doughnut etc.), and drink (u get the idea). if we have a need for a dinner Fri or Sat night we can do that to and it will probably be about the same as lunch. the discount could be simply a cheaper price or a free drinks or something to that effect, but whatever it is it will be at least a little cheaper than eating elsewhere (plus it's close so we could get it to the tourney quickly). seeing how there is a variety of choices withing the "groups" of food (sandwich, side, drink) i'm sure everyone will find something they like. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED PLEASE REPLY HERE OR SEND ME AN EMAIL at: mvellake@yahoo.com Once i get the numbers i can work things out with my employer. hope to hear from all of you soon!!!

I was planning on Subway..which is $7 for a footlong/chips/drink.
Horton's can beat that in price and healthiness?
I would be curious what their menu is.

I will be making it and I'll let you know on the food in the next couple of days.

Here's an example for lunch: Turkey (or chicken) club sandwich, Muffin (or doughnut, apple, or cookie), and 12oz. Coffee (or a variety of teas, juice, or milk) for $6.04 after tax. and that's not including any discounts I'm trying to get! oh, and the club sandwiches have 8g of fat, and we have a bunch of muffins (including low fat and whole grain). though if one wanted a doughnut and 8 shots of cream and sugar in their coffee (which I've taken orders for...it look like syrup.), then it all becomes a bit less healthy.... Breakfast would be cheaper by the way. the food is good, we put a lot of meat on the sandwiches ;), and it's filling. here's a menu to see what you'll get: http://www.timhortons.com/us/en/menu/menu.html

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    God Bless y'all!!!

Hey Marc
that sounds great:  I will participate in the meal deal (thanks for the menu link), and I plan to stay at the church.
I will need a number address to put into my GPS (not just the street)--I may can find it by memory but it has been awhile....aka like a year since I was last there.
Also, I'm trying to get members of my playgroup to come...if they can't then I will need a TEAMS partner (I have both decks to make it easier).

my wife and I will probably just bring our own food.  As far as a teams partner I would say I need one but i don't think my wife would like that as she is going to be there to play!

o.k. so some things have changed. eating has become FFFFFFRRRREEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!  i figured y'all would like that. meals will run kinda like bagels and fruit and such for breakfast, pizza and stuff like that for the other meals. if you would rather have something else, we are a minute from a bunch of places to grab food. soda and water will be available the whole time for like $.50 or $.75. also, it would be a help to me if i got an idea of the number of people coming. jonathan, al, roy, robert, and laine are definites so far. anyone else know they are coming or have an idea? oh, btw the Booster Draft will be with RoA tins only! that and a TexP! hope that is alright with everyone. will accept Redemption cash for Registration (limited to 10 people; first come, first serve) any questions, comments, rants, raves?
HOPE TO HEAR FROM MANY SOON!!!!
                                                                                                                                                                                                     best,

Is redemption cash accepted for the door fee and sealed Deck cost?  We have redemption cash if so.

Redemption cash will be for the door fee. i can't accept it for Sealed deck or other things. however, if very few people choose to use Red. cash for their registration then i could accept a limited amount for other fees.

if any of you are planning on coming on Fri, you may have to bring a bit to eat or plan on going somewhere. i will still be providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner on saturday, but i dont really have any idea of who is coming on Fri nite, so i won't have provided meals. i will have some snacks for a cheap cost then and throughout Sat. thanks for all the support i have gotten thus far. hope to see y'all there!!!

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that.  I will tell you when I get there.  I'm assuming it's not a category you're going to surprise on us.  But Dream Hand works with my one deck very well.

First off I want to thank Marc so much for hosting.  We had a wonderful time and Cortland is a great location for the NY state event.

Firday Night closed with a EPIC battle between Marc and I for the Sealed Deck Championship.  We were tied 4-4 and all I needed to do was draw SoG.  Instead it got discarded by egypt horsemen.  All around great game. Thanks Marc.

Saturday I will just say I came in last place in t1 2 player.

Then in the T1 Multiplayer game I pulled out the win!

Thanks everyone for the fun and fellowship.  God bless you all and thanks again Marc you are an awesome man of God.

P.s. Jonathan. I would love to carpool with you to midwest regionals and split gas cost with you.  Let me know if that is a possiblity.

*****Edit  Could I also get all the results from NY States for the northeast site
