I played Doubt for an entire year and I got maybe 3 blocks with it. (And one time I'd had to use a GoH too!)

Probably because I didn't have any enhancement support....

back to the main point... redemption is only fun when you have the money and skills needed to get the newer cards

You need to speak English, walk into your local GameStop, and fill in a job application. No other skills are needed, maybe not even English beings most GameStop employees don't speak English ;D.

Still, tins, UR's, and the better rares are hard to get when you're a poor college student.  My best guys are just filling up their LS slots with LS's that have a SA.

Redemption is unfair, unbalanced, cheap, lame, uber competitive, and requires no strategy!

We all know that and have this discussion from time to time. If you really want to quit because of that, feel free. However, you'll miss out on a lot of fun times at tournaments with a lot of great people.

If you're just tired of people being successful with the "same old same old" then create a new innovative strategy. With over 2,000 cards there are definitely combinations that haven't been thought of yet. Some of those may be super successful in the future.

99% of the top cards are fairly easy to come by.

Agreed. Since TexP and Disciples came out, cards like DoN, GoyS and WoP have been much easier to come by. The only "top cards" that are still sort of difficult to obtain are Grapes, Mayhem and Revealer LS (I guess one could argue for FSP, but Lydia (H) is certainly a viable and cheap substitute.) And of those 3 cards, Grapes is the only one that a person could pretty much guarantee will be in the top 3 T1 decks at Nationals.

I still don't have the right cards to build half the decks I want to.  A box of TxP would be great to pull all the staple cards you want, but what happens if you only get about $20 a month disposable, and are already $40,000 in the hole?

Okay. So here is what you do.

You go to a food shelter and get an apple. What if they don't have apples? Tough. Fine an apple kid. Make it a good kind. Not one of those waxy, flavorless, thick skinned ones. Those won't work. Not at all. Why would you even have one of those ones? Why would anyone want one of those ones? Whoever engineered that type of apple is a sick man.

Okay, so anyway, cut the apple open and take 5 of the 6 seeds out. Do whatever you wish with the last seed: eat it, bury it, throw it at a homeless guy, just don't let it mingle with the other 5. Don't ask questions why not, just listen to me. I'm helping you out of the kindness of my heart, the least you could do is trust me.

So anyway, take those 5 seeds and plant them. If RuneScape has taught me anything, it is that it takes anywhere from 18 to 30 hours for a tree to grow. So come back the next day and you'll have enormous apple trees. Pick the apples off them and begin selling them. After a week of selling them you'll have lots and lots of money. Buy shares in major apple orchards and then preform hostile take overs. Keep doing this until you own every apple orchard, large or small. It should take about a week.

After that, DESTROY THE LAND. Make sure it isn't suitable for growing apples. This may seem weird, but again, trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Then, do that in every other civilized country. Take control of the land and then proceed to destroy it. After all the apple-suitable land of civilized countries is no longer capable of growing apples, take over the apple-suitable land of the non-civilized countries. In these countries DO NOT DESTROY THE LAND. Grow tons and tons of apples.

At this point the US government will realize "hey, this guy has a monopoly on the apple market!". It is too late though, as you'll be in a country without anti-monopoly laws. So now that you have a monopoly over the apple market, start raising prices. Charge $100 per apple and sell tons (but give me free apple juice). Within a month of beginning all this you should be at trillionaire. Then buy lots of scratch off lottery tickets and you might win something like $3000 you can use towards Redemption.

Or he could invest the money he would've spent on lotto tickets in Redemption cards....

Other than that, sounds like a plan. Farming is a really fun skill to train, and you make tons of money doing it.

There is so much that can be read into this statement it's not even silly.

Rarest card in the game. It's a 4/4 Green hero from Unlimited that has "Promo" written on it in a black sharpie. Prof has an autographed one.
