Scary ability on Hur - battle challenge or battle! Also great job on the art - I love how the art extends past the box, just like the original!

We actually call that the "Hur Technique" because we did all the graphic work early on in the process this year we had time to do that to a number of cards.
Covenant with Death. That is all.

I definitely like Hur's ability.  Question:  how come the image from Gifts from the Magi was used for the border art?

0/10 Moses' foot isn't covering the X.

Seriously though, Hur is a beast. I didn't know that he held Aaron's Staff as well as Moses' arms. Can't wait to play him.

I'll post The Destroyer for the first non-elder who can answer!

Hur + Gifts = draw 7

Was probably going to say something similar.  The first print of Hur used to force opponent to draw 7 new cards combined with gifts it is a draw 7 for you.

Yeah, that's a pretty classic combo. I ran that in the first Nationals tournament I ever went to, back in 2011. Good times.

Pretty cool but I’m confused about the “or if you do not play” part. What does that mean exactly, if you don’t play any other cards? If you don’t play Redemption on a regular basis?

Besides The Destroyer and Death of the Firstborn, are there any Passover-specific cards being made since it points to Jesus being the Passover lamb?

It's referring to the first sentence - you MAY play a plague when blocked. If you choose not to, you get the discard.

This guy is pretty terrifying. That said, only two of the modern plagues are reliable battlewinners (Darkness and Firstborn, and Disease if you're blocked by an animal), and the ones that allow you to play an enhancement require more silver to get value. He's strong, but until we fill out the plagues (since all the old ones are getting difficult to play, as single-brigade green or gold) I don't think he's busted.

Would it be clearer the other way - "If you do not (or if not blocked)"?

In fact, if it is changed, the parenthesis aren’t even needed.

“If you do not, or if not blocked, discard an evil human after battle.”

Agreed in general, but Redemption tends to use the parenthesis in this instance. See Hunter, Covet, Darkness, etc.

Ha yes we can tell. But that’s the thing. If we don’t have to use them then why would we if it’s clearer without their use, such as the example above? This is one of the issues recently brought up with parenthesis use. Anyways, there’s more important things in life than discussing parenthesis use.  ;D
