A Glimpse Into the Future

In the course of the upcoming Christ centric block it’s likely that we will be printing a group of characters that don’t fit into any of our current brigade themes. Most (if not all of them) are probably O.T. Heroes. In the past when this type of thing comes up a new brigade is introduced (teal for Priests and clay for N.T. after Pentecost). But I don’t know if more brigades is what the game really needs.

What do you think is the best good brigade to give them and why?

Or would a new brigade be better after all and what color should it be?
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

I would be in favor of another evil brigade but not another good one.  I would almost like to see clay get an OT theme.  All the original brigades have both NT and OT cards, I think it would be cool to see that for the newer brigades as well (including NT priests, maybe focusing on new believers?).  If we cant have OT clay, then my vote is for either blue or white

I propose that they depict rainbow (multi brigade) like Kings of the Earth does for evil. Their brigade would be unity that requires the rest of Heroes to have a single brigade (or to have one brigade in common across all of your heroes) and they would match whatever brigade that is.

So it would creat a dynamic character, but still discourage splash offense.

It would also represent inclusion of all people groups.

I love the Cloud card concept and really wanted Hope to be one but I understand them being set specific.

Having something unique which isn't a brigade could be cool.. Which still let's them play enhancements or maybe only specific ones or kinds.

I would like to see them mixed into Blue, Red, White, Gold and maybe Green and Purple, and given abilities that fit with the current themes/strategies of that respective brigade. I believe this would create some greater variety in deck-building options and be somewhat of a throwback to the original Redemption sets when brigades weren't necessarily defined by themes.

Without knowing any information about them, I think some of extremely theme centric brigades could use some more modern Heroes. White and clay are stacked partially because the groups they represent is so large and thus a lot of multibrigade cards include those brigades. Meanwhile red really only gets warriors, blue only gets Genesis, Teal only gets priests, and Purple only gets Royalty/Disciples. Green, white, clay, yellow, and silver don't need the extra help since prophets and prophecy give a ton of content to pull from, clay/white is stacked, judges also have a good bit of content and it has its NT theme to grow into, and silver is strictly angels.

I love to see the game expand so I vote new brigade! As for the color, some options are:

Bronze
Midnight (dark) blue
Silver
Pink
Blue-green

There’s already silver...

How about tan for evil characters? I think they could use another brigade.

I agree with an earlier poster. I like how the Cloud icon was used. Let’s revisit using something similar again.

Light blue would be cool to see as a hero brigade although I think I’d rather see current brigades and themes reinforced first.

Lol how could I forget that there's already silver

Just trying to think long term and big picture, I think it would be great if there was another brigade. It expands the game and a few sets from now, there will be more options/diversity which is awesome.

That being said, I am aware that there are currently 2 more good brigades than evil brigades. So I'd like to see more evil brigades too.

All I ask if another brigade is created is to not then print 3 sets in a row where nearly every good card has the new brigade on it and it becomes omnipresent for a couple years.

No new good brigades please. Plenty left to do in the others. Teal needs something new. *Hint hint ;)

Evil I could see, but there's plenty left to do there too.

Teal definitely needs boosting, but especially NT gold. That is one neglected theme.

I'm not sure if we need another color. But if we do add one I like this color. Wow this looks more orange on my phone then it did on my computer. I was going for a Carmel color.

Yeah why not? Clay is basically pink and gold is basically yellow. Mount Carmel was in the Bible  ;D it was also the second stone in the priests breastplate topaz.

I agree with Guardian et. al. Mixing it in to other brigades leads to more interaction and strategy. It could potentially be something that benefits all brigades with its own strategy, or help out themes in their own strengths, or patch their weaknesses.

It would be nice if there were 9 evil and 9 good brigades in the future ;) cause balance is great. IMO good should have stopped at 7 and evil at 6... for no good reason :P

Also agree with The Guardian.  Would love to see the brigades build a little separation in what those brigades "do" and what their "identity" is.

16 brigades is plenty.  For those that want another brigade, could you give some reasons you are in favor of it?  I personally don't think MoS, Vittles, Damsel, or Outsiders need to draw more than 9  ;)

I like the suggestion about potentially using an icon (like the Cloud icon) for these heroes.  If not an icon, perhaps a keyword.

perhaps they could be all different brigade but have an identifier that lets them use any "insert set theme" enhancement
