King Saul

Watchman:
How come no version (good or evil) of King Saul is considered a duplicate card of a unique character for T1 deck building purposes?

RedemptionAggie:
The good and evil versions are duplicates of the CoW version. They're not duplicates of each other because they hit a loophole we haven't felt like closing. Or don't know how to close without making Salome (white) and Salome (evil gold) duplicates too.

Watchman:
So apparently I can use the good version and evil version from Kings in the same T1 deck?

Along the same lines I noticed that Saul/Paul and Paul (P) can’t be in the same deck, even though one’s evil and one’s good. I’m assuming this is because when Saul’s converted there’ll be two good Pauls in the deck. If this is the case then what would the difference be with evil king Saul being converted, even though there’s a good version of King Saul already in the deck? If that is not the reason then what is the reason you can’t have Saul and Paul in the same deck?

RedemptionAggie:
The deck building rules are supposed to apply to the face value of cards. Since Saul/Paul starts as evil, he doesn't have the same icon as Paul, and they don't have the same art, so they should be legal in the same deck.

Then why are they listed as duplicate cards?  It makes it appear as if you could not have Saul and Paul in the same deck.
